New South Wales Property

WHK Horwath Sydney CBD and Norwest space requirement (AFR Pg.56)
  • Accountancy firm WHK Horwath has indicated that it is in the market for around 4,000m² of space in the Sydney CBD in addition to some space in Norwest Business Park
  • WHK Horwath currently has space in the Dexus and AMP owned Lumley House at 309 Kent Street and 120 Sussex Street. Both leases expire in 2012. 
  • WHK Horwath plans to either look for completely new space or consolidate the existing space to one of the current buildings.
Sekisui interested in Barangaroo (AFR Pg. 56)
  • Sekisui, Japan’s largest homebuilder has indicated it is interested in investing in Lend Lease’s Barangaroo project in Sydney
  • Sekisui recently purchased a half stake in the $75 million Serrata apartment towers in Melbourne’s Docklands and a share in Lend Lease’s Hyatt Coolum Resort.

National Property

Interest rate increase (AFR Pg.54)
  • The Reserve Bank of Australia has increased interest rates to 4.75%. The increase will add around $50 a month to repayments on a $300,000 mortgage.
