NSW Property

Westfield to move global headquarters (AFR Pg.52)

  • Westfield Group will move their global headquarters to 12,000m² of space over 2 towers at 100 Market Street and 85 Castlereagh Street, Sydney above their new Westfield Sydney City development most likely in mid 2011.
  • Westfield will share 100 Market Street with the Australian Securities and Investment Commission and 85 Castlereagh Street with JP Morgan.
  • 85% of the 75,000m² of office space is now committed.
  • Westfield is building or refurbishing 3 office towers as part of the $1.9 billion Sydney City project. All the towers will be linked above the centre with a sky lobby.

University of Technology Lindfield listing (AFR Pg.53)

  • The University of Technology Sydney is to sell a 13.9 ha parcel of land in Lindfield.
  • The site has concept plan approval for 345 dwellings.

Queensland Property

Springfield Lakes development site sale (AFR Pg.52)

  • A 2.66 ha ($136/m² or $1,364,662/ha) mixed-use development site within south east Queensland’s Greater Springfield project has been purchased by a private syndicate for $3.63 million.
  • The Springfield Lakes site on Springfield Lakes Boulevard and Viewpoint Drive has development approval for 166 properties ($21,867/dwelling) in addition to shops and offices.
  • The site includes 3 separate titles which will allow for staging of the development.

Peppers Pier Resort, Harvey Bay sales (AFR Pg.53)

  • Receivers have sold 21 holiday units in Peppers Pier Resort, Harvey Bay for prices ranging from $200,000 and $800,000.
  • The units comprise 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms and the sale prices achieved are approximately 30% lower than the asking prices when they were marketed off-the-plan in 2007.
  • A marketing campaign was launched 12 weeks ago and all the units were passed in at auction. After subsequent negotiations the units sold to a mix of owner occupiers and investors.

Brisbane leases (AFR Pg.53)

  • Four leases totalling 2,216m² of space have been renewed at 215 Adelaide Street in Brisbane.
  • Industry resources indicate gross rents in the building range between $400/m² and $525/m².
