Half Stakes in Centro Shopping Centres to be Sold (AFR Pg.46)
  • Centro are looking to sell half stakes in their Centro Roselands and Centro Bankstown shopping centres for $450 million following Perron’s acquisition in half stakes of three of its regional shopping centres for $690.4 million.
  • The 85,738m² Centro Bankstown shopping centre has a book value of $557 million and comprises a department store, three discount department stores, two supermarkets and 333 speciality stores.
  • The 61,471m² Centro Roselands shopping centre is fully enclosed, comprises a department store, discount department store, two supermarkets and 163 speciality stores and has a book value of $329 million.

Swanston Street Office Tower Sold (AFR Pg.48)
  • An 18 storey, 20,000m² office tower at 501 Swanston Street, Melbourne has been sold at auction for $60 million ($3,000/m²).

Queensland

Precinct Master Plan Development Update (AFR Pg.45)
  • The Queensland government has signalled its intention to reduce its ownership of assets in Brisbane’s CBD from 420,000m² to 320,000m² over the next five years.
  • The potential future sale of assets at 1 William Street, 80, 100 and 102 George Street would make way for a mixed use development precinct comprising retail, commercial, residential and tourist facility components.
