First Home Buyers Scheme Update (AFR Pg.1)
  • The NSW government has introduced reforms to the first home buyers scheme by increasing the first home owner’s grant on new homes worth up to $650,000 by $8,000 to $15,000 from October 1.
  • The $7,000 grant for first home buyers of existing homes will be abolished from October 1.
  • A $5,000 grant for non-first home buyers on new homes worth up to $650,000 and vacant land worth up to $450,000 will be introduced on July 1.
Epping Office Park Sold (AFR Pg.49)
  • The NSW government has acquired the Epping Office Park from Abacus Property Group for $48.5 million, a reported 22.8% premium to the asset’s book value.
  • The property was previously sold to Abacus for $25 million in 1997.
  • The state transport authority intends to demolish and redevelop the site to become the location for the North West Rail Link’s Epping service facility.
