New South Wales

Central Park Development Update (AFR Pg.48)
  • 800 of the 1,400 apartments under construction which form Fraser Property’s and Sekisui House’s $2 billion residential development Central Park have been pre sold.
  • The Mark, the third tower to launch spans 27 storeys comprising 412 apartments of which 100 have been pre sold and is expected to be completed by early 2014.
  • 25% of pre sales for the whole development have been generated from off shore buyers.

Queensland

Peregian Springs Shopping Centre Sold (AFR Pg.50)
  • An investment syndicate led by Alceon have acquired the 4,766m² Peregian Springs Shopping Centre on the Sunshine Coast for approximately $20 million.
  • The circa 2008 centre is anchored by a Coles supermarket and comprises 14 speciality stores.

National

Interest Rate Decision (AFR Pg.1)
  • The Reserve Bank of Australia has cut the overnight cash rate by 25 basis points to 3.5%, citing the persistent turbulence in financial markets stemming from sovereign debt issues in Europe, weaker growth in China and modest domestic growth.
