Commercial Property update (AFR Pg.22)
New figures indicate that up to December 16 this year, foreign investors had accounted for 37% of the $9.8 billion of commercial property deals in
Australia
for transactions over $20 million.
The level of foreign investment is the highest in 20 years.
Asia recorded the strongest proportion of foreign investmest accounting for 51%.
Domestic superannuation funds, wholesale funds and unlisted property trusts accounted for 21% of market activity.
Commercial office assets were the most active representing 64% of all transactions.
