Barangaroo Update (AFR Pg.57)
  • Construction has commenced on the $6 billion Barangaroo redevelopment which will comprise commercial towers, 3.6 hectares of public space and 800 residential apartments.
  • The commercial towers are expected to be completed by 2015.

Victoria

Port Melbourne Bottling Plant for Sale (AFR Pg.57)
  • Rathbone Wine Group is selling a Bottling plant at 262 Lorimer Street, Port Melbourne.
  • The property spans 2 hectares and comprises 15,600m² of building area consisting two bottling lines and four levels of office and showroom facilities.

Queensland

Swanbank Industrial Site Sold (AFR Pg.55)
  • TRUenergy has acquired a 25 hectare industrial site at Swanbank for approximately $10 million ($40/m²).
  • Subject to approval, TRUenergy will develop a $400 million power station with construction to commence in 2013.

National

Commercial Building Disclosure Program Update (SMH Pg.9)
  • From November 1, owners of commercial properties over 2,000m² will be required to disclose a Building Energy Efficiency Certificate (BEEC).
  • The BEEC will comprise a NABERS energy rating, energy efficiency guidance and a tenancy lighting assessment.
